Nairobi- Two cabinet secretaries are said to have tendered their resignations letters to Uhuru Kenyatta.
They are said to be eyeing elective positions which bars from holding official position while campaigning across the country.
The Cabinet Secretary for devolution, Mwangi Kiunjuri and the water and irrigation SC are said to have handed the letters to Uhuru.
Public servants eyeing elective seats are supposed to resign six months to an election according to the constitution.
The two CS’s will leave office officially on February 9. Wamalwa is said to be eyeing the Trans Nzioa county gubernatorial seat while Kiunjuri wants to unseat Laikipia governor Joshua Irungu.
President Uhuru is expected to pick new individuals to replace them after they leave office together with Amina Mohamed’s docket which has remained vacant.
