Nairobi, January 29- Governor Joho’s deputy has defected to Jubilee, dealing the ODM party a deadly blow ahead of the coming General Election.
Mombasa Deputy governor Hazel Katana annouced her defection to Jubilee citing bad treatment from ODM.
She will be vying for the Mombasa senatorial seat in 2017 on a Jubilee ticket if she wins the nomination.
Katana accused Joho of putting her through hell over tribulations so bad that she could not explain.
“I went without salary for a whole year. I persevered abuses including being told I am lazy, an idler, stupid, unable to do anything, I cannot talk, had no voice and useless.” said Katana
Her defection was attended by over 200 Jubilee supporters where she announced her plans of running for the Mombasa senatorial seat.
Nairobi Women Representative Racheal Shebesh joined by other women Jubilee leaders welcomed her to the party.
Joho’s Director of Communication described the defection as good riddance saying ODM is focused on winning the elections and has no time for side shows.
