Social media sensation Elsa Majimbo has stirred up conversation by revealing details about her once-close relationship with British model Naomi Campbell. In a TikTok video lasting 9 minutes, Majimbo disclosed a rift between them stemming from her documentary tracing her journey from Kenya to Hollywood.
The now-deleted video shared that Majimbo initially met Campbell during the latter’s 2020 trip to Kenya, and they spent quality time together in Malindi. However, tensions arose when Majimbo premiered a documentary on colorism and discrimination in Kenya without informing or crediting Campbell, who had initially suggested the idea.
Majimbo went on to accuse Campbell of indirectly contributing to her struggles with alcoholism and depression. The fallout occurred when Campbell expressed displeasure over not being informed about the documentary, leading to a strained phone call and communication cutoff. Majimbo revealed feeling ostracized in the industry, which contributed to her turning to alcohol.
Despite the strained relationship, Majimbo acknowledged Campbell’s initial support in her career, stating, “I’m not going to speak on that, but I will say that Naomi did give me a lot of credibility, especially when I first came to Hollywood. She made me feel special; she did a lot of things for me.”
Regarding the deletion of tweets related to the issue, Majimbo clarified that it was not out of fear but a pursuit of peace. She stated, “I stand by my words. Content in my decision. The tweets are deleted due to seeking peace, not fear. Y’all need to understand this is something that has happened since I was 19. My goal now is happiness.”
Majimbo further added, “Naomi never force-fed me alcohol. The situation led to the action. My action. As I said, my part was played, and responsibility is mine.”
