The officers, who were stationed at Kiritiri Police Station, were apprehended following investigations into numerous public complaints alleging extortion.
“The officers were observed for several days extorting money from motorists and members of the public,” said EACC spokesperson Eric Ngumbi.
The arrested officers have been identified as: Inspector Sammy Cherogony, Corporal Maurice Mwakachora, Police Constable Fozia Hallake, Police Constable Adan Mohamed Iman.
Following their arrest, the EACC escorted the officers to their Integrity Centre Police Station for processing. They were later booked at Kilimani Police Station, where they will be held in custody pending further legal action.
