Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse has officially tabled before parliament a special motion to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Mutuse’s motion for impeachment of Gachagua with 11 grounds, was approved by Speaker of national assembly Moses Wetangula who said it meets the constitutional threshold.
Mutuse revealed that a total of 291 members of this National Assembly appended their signatures in support of the motion.
Only 58 members in the currently parliament declined to sign in support of the motion.
The process of Kicking out Gachagua started with National Assembly Speaker Wetang’ula officially notifying the House of receipt of motion for removal of the Deputy President from office by impeachment.
While filing the motion, Mutuse defended his motive and distance himself from any malice or politicial influence.
” For the record, I have no grudge. I have no ill will or personal vendetta against His Excellency Rigathi Gachagua. I am just doing my duty as a citizen of the Republic of Kenya and executing my mandate as a member of this House to bring this motion.” he said.
