Professor George Magoha and wife Barbara together have a son Michael Augustus Achianja Magoha who is the only child they were blessed with.
Magoha met his wife in Lagos Nigeria in the University of Lagos where he had gone to study as a physician and also studied as a surgeon and Urologist.
Michael is a medical Practitioner and it has been revealed that he tried to resuscitate his father before he died.
Michael currently serves as a Consultant Neurological Surgeon and University Lecturer at University of Nairobi.
He went to Strathmore Primary school after which he joined Brookehouse for his secondary Education. He Later joined Aga Khan University Teaching Hospital for courses in Advanced Cardiac life support, Basic Surgical skills, European Pediatric life support and Advanced Trauma Course.
Michael undertook his internship in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Pediatric and Child health at the Aga Khan University Teaching Hospital.
After the completion of his Internship, Michael successfully attended elective placement at the University of Cape Town and Groote Schuur Hospital faculty of Health Sciences in Vascular, Cardiothoracic and General Surgery
He then Proceeded to do his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor
of Surgery in the University of Nairobi School of Medicine and thereafter undertook A master of Medicine Neurological science in the same Institution.
In 2018, Michael experienced the most challenging phase in his career as there was a controversial case of Brain surgery performed on the wrong patient and he was the surgeon in charge.
Michael is also an Author and he has authored the book Study like a surgeon.
