Talanta Hela, a flagship programme initiatiated by the kenyan government specifically the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Sports and arts is set to be officially launched at state house by his excellency the president William Ruto today.
The programme which has an aim of nurturing and monetizing talents of youths in the country had been put to a halt by a court order issued in May 23 .
The order was issued after a petition was filed by an advocate of the High court who is also the petitioner Charles Mugane, challenging the sports Cabinet Secretary’s appointment of the Creative Technical Team.
The program encompasses a wide range of activities including; sports, artistry, music and cinema with a particular goal of propelling local talents to international standards and providing them monetization opportunities.
The cabinet secretary for arts, sports and youth, Mr. Ababu Namwamba while speaking about this initiative said that this program is solemnly brought about to promote youths talents and creativity and propel them to the next level
This program seeks to go beyond entertainment and commercialize talents by strengthening existing initiatives and creating new avenues for growth. It involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education, private sectors, and federations, to ensure its success.
It also incorporates an innovative application that allows creatives, players, and coaches to track their progress and monetize their content without third-party interference. By investing in the future and empowering the youth, the program aims to elevate the creative economy and position Kenya as a hub for talent development and economic growth.
